Health Care Design

Mr. Vara learned the finer points of the Architectural Profession while working on Health Care projects. From the later parts of the 1980’s through the present, he has worked on Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, Adult Care Facilities, Dialysis Units, Doctors offices, Clinics and numerous other types of facilities. In total Mr. Vara has worked on thousands of resident care beds from the the Nursing Home in his home town of Eden, NY across the state to Albany and many locations in between.

During his internship and the early part of his professional career, he focused on the State Building Codes, numerous state DOH regulations and Federal codes that govern the industry.  He has extensive experience in preparing and submitting CON applications and has access to NYS’s HCS. In addition he spent many hours on site during construction of several very complicated projects that required the Nursing Home to be fully occupied while construction was underway. These experiences have taught him how to balance the layers of requirements and methods of construction with the vitally important Health, Safety and Welfare of the facility Residents.
